Although this outfit doesn't prove much, I ♥ dressing DIFFERENT. Because when you spot someone wearing the same/similar outfit........Bleh. Lady Gaga's extremely inspirational, who doesn't give a **** about other's opinions.
Anyways, Happy (upcoming) New Year, 2010! Inspire Yourself.xx

I remember watching alot of television when i was growing up, fortunately for me and unfortunately for my Dad, i still do.(unless im watching The Price is Right)
I had Wheel of Fortune, Supermarket Sweep and The Price is Right! to take me through my afternoons and early evenings after school. I’ve always loved Wheel of Fortune and secretly wished i could be Vanna White, not for her lovely dresses and beauty, but the opportunity to push those big lighted alphabet squares!
Vanity wasn’t an issue for me back then.
Supermarket sweep was my favourite because what person didn’t enjoy tossing and sweeping everything and anything off the shelves and still get paid for it? I cheered along with the audience when a contestant threw elbows of Turkey into his shopping cart and cringed when time was running out and a certain contestant was still grinding coffee beans. (grounded coffee could earn you a 100 bucks)
My mum largely blames Supermarket Sweep for the many shopping cart accidents during my childhood, not to mention having to pick up cans and cans of produce each time i “accidentally” swept my arm across the shelves.
I believe those gameshows are the grandfathers of the Reality Televisions of now. Although long standing shows such as Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right! are timelessly appearing on our gogglebox (albeit the change in prizes and Drew Carry now hosting The Price is Right!) These game shows or contests have made way for reality/lifestyle television such as Who wants to be a Millionaire, Deal or No Deal, Survivor, America’s Next Top Model, Project Runway, My Dad is better than Your Dad.. etc
What draws us to these programs is that we can identify with the contestants and participate along with them. There is a sense of realism for viewers when they watch these average Janes and Joes and it allows the viewers to play the part of a Couch Critic. How many times have you watched American Idol and think to yourself, “hey, i can sing better than that!”
Also, with reality television, chaos and scandals are allowed to happen, sometimes, even encouraged. They are two very important ingredients in keeping and drawing our attention. We have this innate pervasion of seeing Gorden Ramsey scream expletives at his chefs-in-training and enjoying it thoroughly.
Yet, my heart lies with television Gameshows. How often do you get to win a car just by guessing correctly the price of a bottle of Lemon-scented Detergent? No reality television program can give you that.
So excuse me, while i go prowl the aisles at Cold Storage to get better acquainted and prepare myself for possibly, Singapore’s own version of The Price is Right.
